One week ago this past Monday Mexican immigration finally issued my FM3 to me, two steps up from a Tourist Visa--a permanent residency permit. All systems are go for both of us.
Nothing like having these hurdles still hanging around right up until the last minute! I look forward to seeing you in a couple of momths. My husband and son have both got their visas too so it's all go for us as well. Good luck!
Ohmygod Sheila it's really going to happen... another of those opportunities life presents to explore that fine line between excitement and fear... have you done a trial pack yet? All the best Ken
Yes, Ken it feels amazingly real now I have my passport back as well. And the electric company decided to add to this realism by giving as a power outage here today from 8:30 - 13:00 just to get me into practice you realise.
Yes, I've done a trial pack - how did you guess! - fmy irst attempt was bags weighing 22kg, 17kg, 8 kgs (PC, camera, other electrics) and that didn't include the few books I need/want to take and my language learning stuff, so it needs a bit of work!
You are spot on, as usual, about the thin line between fear and excitement, we know about that don't we? But if I can withstand a force 10-11 storm in the Southern ocean I can do this can't I? Yes! Still the excitement levels are definitely rising!
Wonderful news, Sheila! Another hurdle cleared.
