Prospective tenants

Great news - it looks like I have prospective tenants for my house. Yipeee! They have cleared their credit, landlord and personal reference checks and should be signing a tenancy agreement through my lettings agents next week. And moreover they want to sign up for the whole two years! This is quite a relief actually as it means that the house will not be empty, that if something goes wrong the agents can sort it out and all my bills are covered. As a consequence, I have just spent the past two hours reading the fine detail of the tenancy agreement, listing up all the insurance specific thiings to be added for the thatch roof insurance cover, and listing all the suppliers and people I use to do various jobs around the place, service boilers, sweep chimneys, service Rayburn, deliver logs etc etc so that the Agent has all this detail to hand for when things are due and who to contact. Also making a folder of operating instructions documents for each of the appliances to be left in the house.  Phew! Another things ticked of my preparations list. Now I think I deserve some time with a nice cup of tea and a good book, some easy reading I think.

  1. Woohoo! Congratulations, that's really good news. I hope the contracts are all Ok and can be signed and sealed ASAP. That will be a great achievement and mean you can really concentrate on final preps, consuming as much of your favourite food and beverages as you reasonably can and catch up with your friends and family before travel. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

  2. Yep, more goodbyes this weekend - sister in law, brother in law, nephew & neice and their partners and my grand nephew are all here for the weekend. This is a time of birthdays - my nephew and niece have birthdays last weekend and this, my grand nephew on 6th, and my sister in law and brother in law celebrate a big wedding anniversary this week as well. So we are all off out to dinner - Italian - on Saturday evening to celebrate - oh and then there will be a new arrival due in early December!

As for favourite foods I'm not really doing it as much as I had expected, with the exception of my usual amount of nice Brie! Food wise I'm at the stage of emptying cupboards - you can't put food stuffs into storage for this length of time. That means drinking up the drinks cabinet as well. And I am indulging in deep, sweetly smelling, foamy baths to use up all the toiletries in the house. Nice!

  3. This is wonderful news, Sheila! A big, big thing accomplished for you. . . .if indeed they sign. I do so hope they work out well for you as tenants. All indications appear hopeful in this regard, however.
